Esopus Stream cleanup Saturday June 23. Volunteers needed. Please sign up

In collaboration with Ashokan-Pepacton Watershed chapter of Trout Unlimited, and Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program we are organizing a 2012 stream cleanup on the Esopus Creek on Saturday June 23rd 2012 9:30am – 1pm Eastern Time. June 23rd is also TU’s National Stream cleanup day.

This is a great opportunity for members to volunteer some time to support chapter activities. We are looking for 10 – 15 volunteers from the chapter to help with the effort. Please email thoover@hvc.rr.com to signup.

The event will start at AWSMP’s office on route 28 where instructions, maps and collection supplies will be provided. Following the event is a post cleanup BBQ sponsored by APWTU and CMTU.

If you can volunteer, we also are looking for 2-3 members with a pickup truck that can help bring the trash back to the AWSMP office at the end of the event.

I look forward to seeing strong participation from the chapter. We can go fishing afterwards.
