Leslie Zucker and Adam Doan of AWSMP to Speak about Work in the Esopus Creek Watershed

Adam Doan (of Ulster County Soil & Water) and Leslie Zucker (of Ulster County Cooperative Extension), the Program Managers for the Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program will be speaking about ongoing projects and issues in the Esopus Creek watershed. If you are new to the chapter, the AWSMP is an important partner with TU in our work to protect Esopus Creek. Our annual Earth Day tree plantings are done on AWSMP reclamation sites, and the program provides us with most of the trees and shrubs.  In recent years, the AWSMP has done a great deal of work to help Esopus Creek recover from the effects of Tropical Storm Irene in 2011 and has done much to reduce sources of turbidity in the creek. For more information about the program, see their website: http://ashokanstreams.org/. Leslie and Adam’s presentations are always very informative, and they are crucial to helping us set productive goals for our conversation efforts.
